Meet the Founder and Executive Director: Faviola Augustin
Sagrado Wellness is led and created by Faviola Augustin, a Chicana and Indigenous (Wixarika/Cora), Licensed Clinical Social Worker, community member, mother, and partner. Faviola comes from immigrant parents who were farm workers. Faviola is a former community organizer in migrant justice and labor movements prior to becoming a licensed clinician. She has been providing accessible mental health and somatic therapy to clients who are low-income, migrants, Spanish-speaking, families and their children, and uninsured people of color in Arizona for the past 13 years. Faviola believes strongly in working alongside her community to support the continued efforts of collective care through a healing justice framework. Faviola utilizes a holistic approach into the therapy room and incorporates her knowledge in somatic therapy, person-centered approach, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, play and art therapy, action methods such as group psychodrama, and mindfulness practice. Faviola is trained in administering psychological evaluations for immigrants and refugees who are seeking political asylum or hardship cases. On her free time Faviola feels restored when spending quality time with her children and partner or connecting with friends and community.
Our mission and vision:
Sagrado Wellness provides affordable ongoing access to mental health therapy to clients who are low-income, migrants, Spanish-speaking, families and their children, and uninsured and underinsured people of color in Arizona.
Sagrado Wellness envisions a future where Black, Indigenous, Asian, migrants and refugees, disabled, and people of color have the freedom to heal and feel safe to experience a thriving and fulfilling life for us, in our communities, and our future generations free of harm, trauma, and systemic oppression.
Our work:
We offer bilingual individual and group therapy, consultation, and specialize in workshops/trainings with communities rooted in social, racial, and climate justice. Sagrado Wellness is a 501c3 non-profit organization committed to co-creating a healing space that is accessible, responsible, trauma-informed, culturally grounded, LGBTQ2s+ affirming, and all-gender inclusive. We do this by utilizing approaches and interventions that are both centered in our cultural and holistic practices as well evidence-based practices.

Mario Sanchez, LPC, Board Member
A Community Mental Health Counselor for over 20 years, addressing systemic and cultural challenges with youth and their families through a trauma-focused and attachment-based approach. Raised in a Mexican Immigrant household, Mario identifies as bilingual and bicultural with a sensitivity towards spirituality and the significance of ancestral healing. He currently manages and operates Mozaic Therapeutic Services, a counseling practice in NW Tucson.

Egla Gutierrez, LMT, Board Member
Egla is a native to the Sonoran Desert with a Yaqui and Tohono O’odham lineage. She holds knowledge in traditional practices passed on through her ancestors. She is a licensed Massage Therapist and has a private practice since 2017. She also practices Reiki, SAAMA 1.0 and is a certified member from The Center for Mind-Body Medicine.

Luisa Nagore, LPC, Board Secretary
Is from El Salvador and speaks fluent Spanish, English, and French. Luisa is a certified Clinical Trauma Specialist and works with adults, women, LGBTQ+, and immigrants on multiple intersectionality’s of mental health, emotional and cultural needs. She’s been in private practice for the past 6 years and prior to that worked in clinical mental health community and other private settings. Luisa utilizes skills centered in trauma and utilizes CBT and integrates other approaches including existentialism, feminist and cultural diversity (not limited to race and ethnicity).

Anabel Aguayo, LCSW
Anabel is an Indigenous (Nahuatl and Wixarika), Licensed Clinical Social Worker,with over 14 years of experience in mental health. She is fluent in Spanish. She is trained in several trauma informed modalities including Trauma Focused CBT, EMDR and Hypnotherapy. Her mission is to reduce the stigma of mental health in communities of color, and to make high quality services accessible and relatable. Anabel was called to mental health as a way of resistance against oppression. "It is always possible to heal, to have stability, find happiness, and to have freedom in the ways we choose to live our lives."

Carla Vargas-Frank, MSW Intern
Carla is a multi-ethnic Chicana and graduate social work student at Arizona State University with a specialization in children, youth and families. She comes to Sagrado Wellness as a clinical intern with professional experience in refugee and migrant services, food justice, coalition and advocacy work, and anti-trafficking efforts. She is actively involved in mutual aid and community wellness organizing, and her practice is rooted in a person-centered, multicultural, trauma-informed, and liberatory framework. Carla values cultural reclamation, creative practice, nature based therapies as a part of an interdisciplinary mental health practice practice. She holds a bachelor’s degree in studio art from the University of Arizona and is trained in herbal medicine and ancestral holistic healing modalities.
